Built by a Tech.
For Techs.
Lane Pilot was born in the bay — not a boardroom. We build tools with the precision of a factory scan tool and the grit of an independent shop.
The Origin
6 years at Volkswagen · 7 at Audi · 2 at Land Rover · 2 in independent repair.
I’m a technician with 17 years in the bay. I know what a scan-tool session at 2 AM looks like when you’re chasing a phantom misfire across four cylinders and the service advisor is already promising the car tomorrow morning.
The tools we had were either overpriced enterprise software built for massive dealer groups, or cheap generalist apps that treat a Range Rover Sport like a base-model Corolla. Neither one respected the technician's time or the complexity of the vehicles we work on every day.
So I built Lane Pilot from the service lane floor. Every feature exists because I needed it mid-diagnosis — not because a product manager imagined it in a conference room. The Diagnostic Engine thinks the way a senior tech thinks: pattern failures first, scope settings included, parts list before you walk to the bench.
This is the tool I wish I had on day one.

Precision First
Every feature is tested against real shop workflows — greasy gloves, bad lighting, one-handed operation.
Precision That Works
The Diagnostic Engine ranks the likely causes, reviews component photos for visible defects, and names the one test that settles it.
Security Built In
Row-level security between shops and append-only audit logs — not an afterthought.
Built for the Bay
Independent shops, general repair, dealer service and used-car recon — all makes, 1996 and newer.
